Hello, my name is Joel Fariss.

I speak globally on topics of generative research, organizational culture, the future of work, creativity, innovation, and strategic futures.

Joel is a social philosopher whose work emphasizes the liminal spaces of design, meaning, and human experience. He is a Research and Strategy Director at the global design firm Gensler, where he is also a regional leader of Gensler's Design Labs. Day to day he works with visionary leaders around the world to deconstruct stagnating complexity, elicit enterprise epiphany, and design preferable futures during times of transformation. Joel is a passionate champion of corporate heterodoxy and speaks globally about the critical role of human imagination in shaping our collective future. He is also a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Washington’s Human Centered Design graduate program. He lives un the suburbs of Seattle with his wife and two kids.
