Joel Fariss is CEO and Founder of Sysoma, a regenerative placemaking studio developing community-centered, ecologically grounded real estate along the U.S. West Coast. Sysoma works at the intersection of land, culture, and capital to create places that support long-term human and ecological flourishing.

He is also Co-Founder and Board Chair of the Holon Institute, a nonprofit think tank advancing systems-level research, narrative change, and new models of collective intelligence for navigating the global polycrisis.

With a background in strategic foresight, design research, and systems thinking, Joel brings an “applied imagination” approach to building—bridging visionary futures with on-the-ground execution. His work focuses on how real estate, governance, and culture can be re-aligned to generate resilience, belonging, and regenerative economic value in an era of deep disruption.
