Transformational Technologies, Startups, & Investing
“This might sound surprising, but I think there is reason to be deeply hopeful. The pain we feel is the pain of something old that is dying... while something new is waiting to be born.” – Frederick Laloux
Since 2010, I’ve worked with dozens of startup founders and teams to develop products and services, engage with customers, scale organizationally, and cultivate a strong brand. Over the course of this time I also founded two of my own startups and personally walked through the ups and downs of going from zero to one – product development, customer acquisition, and fundraising. Over the last five years, I’ve designed, implemented, and run several enterprise incubator programs that have launched billion dollar products. I now work primarily with Prota Ventures as an advisor, working within the Prota Ventures community to apply insight and foresight to investment decisions and startup teams.
As a part of this personal and professional dimension of my life, I’ve begun investing in technology companies at the friend and family and pre-seed stages. I’m specifically interested in investing in companies that are seeking to unleash latent human potential. I’m agnostic to technology verticals and market space (though I’m bullish on Web3); I believe human civilization is on the precipice of massive social disruption at a global scale as the social mediating systems of the 20th century continue to prove insufficient for addressing the challenges of our time. If you are a founder who shares this perspective and is determined to build technologies and systems that incentivize us to live into our authentic selfhood, to honor our callings, and break from the enchantments of conspicuous consumption, let’s talk.
